Meet Alison
Alison Teresa Parson, (More affectionately known as Allie), is a Native of Ridgeville, SC. She is an Author, Founder, Motivational speaker, Talk Show Host, Professional Blogger, Boutique Owner, and a NAMI Certified Mental Health Advocate. Alison is the eldest daughter of Reverend Dr. Alice Parson-Wright, and King Wright, and the youngest daughter of Mr. David A Brunson. She is a proud Daughter, Granddaughter, Godmother, Sister, Auntie and “Shugga”. She values time spent with her large & loving family. Much of Alison’s childhood was spent watching her grandmother, the Honorable Hazel Snipes Parson-Starkes serve as mayor of her hometown, Ridgeville SC. Alison also watched her mother serve her community through her employment as a social worker for many years. This allowed her a front-row seat to watch what strong, determined, well-rounded women looked like. Unbeknownst to her, life was preparing for her purpose, even during that time. Alison received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Social Sciences, with a concentration in Psychology, from Allen University, Columbia S.C. On April 16th, 2017 (31st Birthday), Alison founded & launched Girltalk 31, a Healing Empowerment Movement, that focuses on aiding women in Healing from past trauma, hurts, & heartbreaks, while providing a safe space where women can bond, share and grow together. Alison believes that her most powerful tool is her willingness to become transparent, in an effort to help other women discover that they aren't alone in their journey to healing and wholeness. Because of this, she has been able to cross the boundaries of religion, socio-economic &; cultural differences, and reach and touch women from all walks of life. Although Alison serves in many capacities and wears many professional hats, she believes it’s her life’s mission to encourage, uplift and transform others. Alison uses a unique psychological approach that focuses on mindfulness, and self-work, during the process of becoming sound and healthy again, while promoting a relationship with the higher power that brings total and complete healing.
I know Alison as a genuinely caring, loving, resourceful, innovative, and impactful woman. I have had the pleasure of working with her on various Girl Talk 31 events, including the Healing Experience, appearing on the Allie Show, and participating in panels discussing life. Alison’s dedication to creating spaces for open, heartfelt dialogue and healing is evident in every project she leads and every event she is part of. The insights and growth both women and men have gained through her endeavors are invaluable. Girl Talk 31 is more than a platform; it's a community that nurtures and empowers. Alison is someone whom I've long admired for her ability to not only curate events and gather all the stakeholders so seamlessly, (although she almost always presents like she never has anything together), but also for her follow through to the finish! if you know her even mildly, you know by the time she finishes, everything has come together. I won't say she does it effortlessly because what she does requires heavy collaboration. Her anointing to complete assignments and projects is evident. I don't use the terms “assignments” and “projects” interchangeably because projects can scale any spectrum, but assignments, I believe, are divine and from the Lord. Alison skillfully maneuvers in both arenas. She always gives credit to those people who help her. She is an unrelenting visionary and phenomenal strategist. I have served with Alison as a guest panelist for “The Healing Experience” and also as a VIP patron of “Over The Top” boutique, her business venture.
